On Saturday afternoon in our nation’s capitol, Marquette men’s soccer stepped right into the woodchipper known as #7 Georgetown. The Hoyas, fresh off their win against #4 St. John’s earlier in the week, wrapped up action at Shaw Field with a 3-0 shutout victory against the Golden Eagles. MU drops to 7-7-1 on the season and 3-4-0 in Big East play. With nine points, the Golden Eagles are still inside the top six team cutoff for a conference tournament berth, but they’re right on the edge of the cutoff.
Miscues by the Golden Eagles ultimately spelled their doom on Saturday, as you can’t make the mistakes that they did and expect to beat the #7 team in the country.
