HOWEVER.
For the first time ever, we have a Marquette women’s soccer connection to the World Cup! Former MU midfielder — and current Indiana University medical student — Ryley Bugay is on the roster for the Philippines National Team. Bugay made her debut for their national team in the 2018 AFC Asian Women’s Cup, and by way of their performance in the 2022 version of that event, Philippines qualified for the World Cup for the first time ever.
