Dallas Mavericks 83, Detroit Pistons 81 (OT) - Johnathan Motley was money with less than one second left in overtime to push Dallas to victory over Detroit on Thursday afternoon in Florida, giving the Mavericks the 2017 NBA Orlando Summer League title.
Motley had 18 points and 10 rebounds, so it’s hard to underestimate his contribution to the game, but former Marquette Golden Eagles guard Dwight Buycks had a role to play as well. The Milwaukee native scored 21 of his game high 28 points in the second half and overtime to help the Mavericks overcome a five point halftime deficit and win the Orlando Summer League title.
