Allie Barber breaks all-time kills record in Marquette’s four-set win over Georgetown Hoyas

For the first time since 2005, Marquette volleyball has a new all-time kills leader: Allie Barber.

The Cedarburg, Wisconsin, native accomplished the feat in the fourth point of the first set in No. 9 Golden Eagles’ four-set victory (25-11, 20-25, 25-14, 25-17) over the Georgetown Hoyas Friday night.

“It was just a really exciting moment,” Barber said. “My teammates were obviously all here cheering for me and we knew leading up to this week I was one kill away. It was just really special moment that I got to share with my teammates.”

The senior totaled a match-high 22 kills and ended the night with 1,755 career kills, surpassing Theresa Coughlin’s record.
