Rio Ferdinand has blasted the 'generic' apology issued by Manchester United's owners following their failed bid to join the now defunct European Super League.
Ferdinand says the Glazers must 'show their faces and answer the fans questions' after claiming the 'PR apology' released by the family 'was not good enough'.
Ferdinand believes the onus is on the Glazers to 'immerse themselves in the club' but admits the only solution to the current circumstance is for football to be governed by an independent regulator.
Speaking ahead of Manchester United's Europa League semi-final with Roma, Ferdinand said: 'I pulled up a quote from Joel glazer when they bought the club in 2005.
