Women's Aid have welcomed the decision for Antony to stay away from Manchester United as the Brazil star continues to face allegations of domestic abuse .
Manchester United confirmed that Antony will delay his return to the squad until further notice to defend himself against the claims made by three women.
The 23-year-old Brazilian winger has not been suspended and is being placed on a leave of absence.
It comes after discussions between chief executive Richard Arnold and manager Erik ten Hag , as well as Brazil’s decision to drop Antony from their squad for the World Cup qualifiers against Bolivia and Peru on Monday night
Following United's announcement, Women's Aid tweeted: 'At Women’s Aid we welcome the decision that following serious allegations of domestic abuse and violence against women, Antony will not be returning to training or games for @ManUtd until further notice, as this situation is addressed.
