Wolves 'preparing final contract offer' for £40m-rated Man United and Arsenal target Ruben Neves with the midfielder 'open to staying at Molineux' after revival under Julen Lopetegui this season

Wolves will reportedly make one final effort to tie Ruben Neves down to a new long-term contract amid interest in the Portuguese star from Manchester United and Arsenal.

The 26-year-old midfielder's contract expires next summer and he has rejected a number of extension offers as leading Premier League clubs circled.

The Molineux club don't want to lose one of their star assets cheaply but the player's £100,000-a-week wage demands have proved a sticking point in talks.

The Sun report that Neves may be more amenable to signing a new deal with Wolves than before - but only if they secure their top-flight status.
