Naturally, much of the focus was on the new man in the dugout, but he's not the one charged with getting the ball in the back of the net but, thankfully, the Reds had a couple on the pitch that know a thing or two about scoring.
Alejandro Garnacho's rapid opener, profiting off some early Rasmus Hojlund graft, suggested the Reds could be in for an easy ride; it proved nothing of the sort. By the 23rd minute, the Norwegians had scored twice and were threatening a third. It took a Hojlund brace either side of half-time to quell fears of anything other than a United win.
