The Reds dominated for the whole 90 minutes, taking the lead when Alejandro Garnacho scored his first goal of the season by converting Diogo Dalot’s low cross in the 21st minute.
Only minutes later, we made it two, Casemiro taking his tally for the season to four, nodding in powerfully from the returning Mason Mount’s accurate corner.
After the break, Anthony Martial also got his name on the scoresheet for the first time this term by caressing Casemiro’s cross beyond substitute goalkeeper Sam Johnstone with a controlled half-volley into the far corner.
United could have had more thereafter but with the job more than done, we could be happy with our night’s work, with Dan Gore – making his professional bow for the Reds – among those getting valuable minutes from the bench in the latter stages.
