Macaulay McGowan was heard asking his corner for an update on the Manchester derby score during his fight against Kieron Conway on Saturday night.
The Manchester-born super welterweight was defeated by Conway on the undercard of Anthony Joshua vs Kubrat Pulev.
He suffered a double hammer blow with his fight coming at the same time as Pep Guardiola's men faced Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side, meaning he was unable to watch the encounter.
