Wembley is braced for THOUSANDS of ticketless Manchester United and Newcastle fans as the FA ramp up security measures for Carabao Cup showpiece to prevent a repeat of the chaos that marred Euro 2020 final

The FA are promising robust security measures around Wembley with thousands of ticketless fans set to travel for Sunday's Carabao Cup final between Manchester United and Newcastle.

Both clubs were allocated 32,000 seats — including more than 850 safe standing — but it is estimated that up to 10,000 fans, the vast majority from Newcastle, will arrive in the capital without a ticket. Given the chaos at the Euro 2020 final, when thousands of ticketless fans tried to storm the stadium, the FA have upgraded their security operations for major finals.

There will be no-alcohol zones around Wembley Way and match-ticket checks upon leaving Wembley Park station, and general stewarding levels have been increased.
