Wayne Rooney will be in the Manchester United squad for the EFL Cup final confirms Jose Mourinho who admits their Europa League tie against Rostov is 'a bad draw'

Wayne Rooney will be in Manchester United’s squad for the EFL Cup final against Southampton after Jose Mourinho praised his captain for ending the speculation over his immediate future at Old Trafford.

Michael Carrick will also be available for the trip to Wembley after recovering from the calf injury he suffered in Saint-Etienne in midweek, but Henrikh Mkhitaryan is out with a hamstring problem and Phil Jones is a doubt.

Rooney stayed at home to train while United were in France and his agent Paul Stretford was in Beijing discussing a move to the Chinese Super League before the transfer window closes there on Tuesday.
