McClaren has spent the past two years as assistant to men’s first-team manager Erik ten Hag, playing a key role in the staff behind our 2024 Emirates FA Cup and 2023 Carabao Cup-winning teams.
In an earlier spell at Old Trafford, Steve served as assistant to Sir Alex Ferguson from the Treble-winning 1999 season to 2001, and later went on to manage the England national team.
Commenting on McClaren’s departure, ten Hag said: “I want to thank Steve for his tremendous service over the past two years. He has been an invaluable source of support and advice to me since I arrived in English football, helping us achieve two trophies while laying down foundations for further success.
