Manchester United legend David Beckham received the Professional Footballers' Association Merit Award on Sunday, in recognition of his services to the game with club and country.
The former England captain, who retired from football four years ago next month, collected the trophy two decades after being named the PFA Young Player of the Year in 1997. Previous winners of the PFA Merit Award include his former team-mate Ryan Giggs (2016) and ex-manager Sir Alex Ferguson (2007).
