Former Manchester United defender Rio Ferdinand has called for the 2019-20 season to be scrapped due to the coronavirus outbreak.
All elite football in England has been suspended until April 30, and there has been much debate regarding what should happen with the games that have yet to be played.
There have been some suggestions that games could be played in quick succession, but Ferdinand is adamant that people's health is of greater importance, with the best season being to start afresh next season.
Ferdinand told BT Sport: 'Times like these do push it home how important sport, the contact, communication is, in times like this when you're isolated at home with immediate family.
