Violence erupts before Manchester derby as two men arrested after 50 thugs brawl in city centre

Two men were arrested after rival fans were involved in a pitched battle in Manchester city centre on Saturday,

Around 50 thugs, many dressed all in black, were involved in a violent brawl just a few hours before the Manchester derby.

One man was beaten to the ground and stamped on, while traffic cones and road signs from a nearby building site were hurled across the road.

Greater Manchester Police confirmed that two men were arrested following the disturbance.
