Affectionately known as “The King”, Denis scored 237 goals in 404 appearances during 11 years with the Reds, placing him only behind Wayne Rooney and Sir Bobby Charlton in the club’s all-time top goalscorers.
Law has two statutes at Old Trafford, including the United Trinity statue on the Old Trafford forecourt alongside George Best and Sir Bobby. Beneath the statute, United chief executive officer Omar Berrada laid a wreath on Saturday morning on behalf of the club.
Fans have also been leaving scarves, flowers and messages of their own to the Aberdeen-born Ballon d’Or winner.
A book of condolence has been opened for fans to pay their respects to Law and his incredible legacy.
