The full-back was given a longer two-game ban by UEFA for matches in the competition ahead of Wednesday’s Group F tie against Villarreal.
It comes after his tackle on Young Boys’ Christopher Martins Pereira, which he was sent off for in our opening game of this season’s tournament, was regarded as “rough play,” meaning his mandatory one-match suspension for the red card in Switzerland was doubled.
Wan-Bissaka therefore missed our midweek win over Villarreal at Old Trafford and is now also set to be absent for our home tie against Atalanta later this month.
But speaking to club media ahead of this weekend’s game against Everton in the Premier League, which Wan-Bissaka will be in contention to return to the side for, Solskjaer says that the club will appeal the decision to extend the ban to UEFA.
