New CEO Omar Berrada, sporting director Dan Ashworth, and club director Sir Dave Brailsford were among the group that met counterparts from the Chargers, along with men’s first-team manager Erik ten Hag.

They were given a tour of the state-of-the-art facility, which opened earlier this month, and were briefed on the latest innovations in sports science and technology used by the Chargers.

Known as ‘The Bolt,’ the facility comprises an impressive 150,000-square-feet, three-storey main building and 14 acres of training pitches located in the El Segundo suburb of Los Angeles.

The visit provided valuable insights and inspiration for the £50m redevelopment project under way at our own Carrington Training Complex in Greater Manchester, as well as a wealth of new ideas for driving elite performance.
