Under-18s beaten by City in semi-finals

Following the defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion in the FA Youth Cup, this was another route to cup glory, but it wasn’t to be against a Blues side that were more clinical in front of goal.

Neil Ryan’s lads are still in the thick of the championship race and, of course, many of the youngsters will hope to be involved in the resumption of the UEFA Youth League.

Both teams were wearing black armbands and the game was preceded by a minute’s silence in memory of Gordon Banks, England’s 1966 World Cup-winning goalkeeper and also, particularly for United’s players, staff and supporters, Eric Harrison, United’s legendary youth coach, who both sadly passed away earlier this week.
