The Catalan club's record attendance was set in this 1986 quarter-final meeting, which Barca won to progress to the last four under the management of Englishman Terry Venables. Back then, the Camp Nou had terracing, whereas now the capacity is under 100,000 due to all-seater arrangements. This attendance figure has been equalled in the European Cup on a number of occasions by Barca's great rivals Real Madrid.
