Sancho started there for Ten Hag’s side, although he also featured at times on the left or the right wing, depending on where the Reds were attacking from.
It was the latest in a series of positive displays since Jadon made his long-awaited return to action on 1 February, against Nottingham Forest.
Speaking in his post-match press conference after drawing with the Saints, Ten Hag said that Sancho took to his new role very well and has recently put in some great performances in both domestic and European matches.
''I think he did quite well as a number ten," said the manager.
