Do not dismiss the chances of Spain boss Luis Enrique becoming the next manager of Manchester United. Insiders say the 51-year-old has many admirers at Old Trafford and would be attractive from a financial perspective, with United not having to pay top dollar to prise him away from the national team.
Enrique spent three years in the dugout at Barcelona, winning two La Liga titles and a Champions League.
He has been viewed as an outsider, behind Ajax boss Erik ten Hag and Paris Saint-Germain’s Mauricio Pochettino.
But those with knowledge of the situation believe Enrique is a real contender, although Spain’s appearance at the winter World Cup may complicate matters.
