Southampton 0-0 Manchester United: Sergio Romero saves Jose Mourinho's day as keeper stops penalty after Saints were awarded dubious spot-kick

Manchester United and Southampton played out an underwhelming goalless draw which saw Sergio Romero save a first-half penalty.

With less than five minutes played, the Saints were awarded a dubious penalty when Eric Bailly handled the ball — but replays show it appeared to be outside the box.

Manolo Gabbiadini placed his spot-kick in the bottom corner but Sergio Romero produced a wonderful save to his right to keep the scores level.

Both teams struggled to create many clear-cut chances with Romero makes a few good saves and Anthony Martial striking the post in the second half.
