Sniffer dogs patrol the Lowry Hotel ahead of Manchester United visit as part of heightened security following Borussia Dortmund team bus attack

There were high levels of security outside the Lowry Hotel in Salford on Saturday as Manchester United prepared to stay ahead of their must-win game against Chelsea.

Police forces around Europe are currently on high alert in the wake of the bomb attack that rocked the Borussia Dortmund team bus last week.

Three explosive devices went off in the vicinity of the team bus ahead of the club's Champions League clash with Monaco on Tuesday night.
