Former Newcastle United coach Terry McDermott has labelled the notion that Sir Alex Ferguson beat Kevin Keegan to the title through mind games 'a load of c**p'.
Terry McDermott was assistant to Keegan during the 1995-96 season when the Magpies came within a whisker of landing their first ever Premier League title.
However, an incredible run of 13 wins in 15 games saw the title swing in the favour of Ferguson's Manchester United, with the Newcastle boss infamously blowing his fuse live on Sky Sports, telling presenters Richard Keys and Andy Gray that he 'would love it' if his side beat United to the title.
