Sergio Romero 'wants to be released from his Manchester United contract this month and the goalkeeper would reject £1.5million in compensation to seal move to the United States'

Sergio Romero is begging Manchester United to release him of his contract this month in order to earn him a move to the United States, according to reports.

The Argentinian goalkeeper is now the Red Devils' goalkeeper third-choice shot stopper following Dean Henderson's return to Old Trafford from a two-year loan spell at Sheffield United.

Romero was close to a deadline day move to Everton but United demanded a fee from the Toffees, who then opted to move for Roma goalkeeper Robin Olsen.

Reports claim Sergio Romero is happy to leave Manchester United with no compensation fee

And according to The Sun, the 33-year-old is happy to be let go from his contract without the £1.
