Scotland and Manchester United have been dealt a blow ahead of their upcoming fixtures, with midfielder Scott McTominay sidelined for surgery on his groin.
The 24-year-old is set to play a key role in United's midfielder this season, and began his season with a superb performance against Leeds United in a 5-1 victory.
However, McTominay could only manage 14 minutes of the 1-1 draw against Southampton, with United revealing the 24-year-old was struggling with the groin throughout.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Scotland boss Steve Clarke will be without McTominay for key games
'Scott has undergone surgery for an ongoing groin injury that was causing significant pain when playing,' the club wrote in a statement.
