Roman Abramovich 'is personally driving Chelsea's bid to re-sign Romelu Lukaku from Inter Milan' with the Blues owner 'convinced the forward can launch the team into a Premier League title challenge'

Chelsea's bid to bring Romelu Lukaku back to Stamford Bridge is being personally led by owner Roman Abramovich, according to reports.

The Belgian forward left the club for Everton in 2014 after failing to break through into the first team, and has since proven himself as one of the best strikers in world football after moving on to Manchester United and Inter Milan.

Lukaku, who scored 30 goals in all competitions this season to help the Italian club claim their first Scudetto in nine years, is now said to be a huge target for the Blues this summer after growing frustrated with the mis-firing Timo Werner - who joined for £53million last year.
