Roma are becoming concerned with Chris Smalling's fitness with the English defender set to miss his 20th match of the season against Napoli on Sunday.
The 31-year-old has suffered from knee and thigh injuries this season, meaning he has only played in 14 out of Roma's 27 league matches since completing his £13million move from Manchester United last summer.
Smalling nearly returned to first-team action as he made an appearance on Roma substitutes' bench for the Europa League last-16 first-leg tie with Shakhtar Donetsk on March 11 - but an inflammation of previous knee problems means he is back on the sidelines.
