The Reds' ambassador and former captain was on hand to wish Isaac and five friends good luck for the two-day trek from Manchester to Merseyside, in which they are raising money for Alder Hey Children’s Hospital in Liverpool.
Isaac, a United season-ticket holder, started his charity efforts last October, when he walked in the opposite direction from St Helens in Merseyside, where he lives, to Old Trafford for our home game against Liverpool.
The return walk back to Merseyside was scheduled for this weekend to coincide with our Premier League away game against Liverpool.
That fixture has now been rescheduled for Tuesday 19 April, so Isaac will finish on Sunday at Alder Hey and then complete the journey with the short hop from Alder Hey to Anfield on the night of the rearranged game.
