Roberto De Zerbi has revealed why Marseille abandoned their attempts to sign Paul Pogba in January.
The former Manchester United midfielder is a free agent after leaving Juventus by mutual consent back in November.
The Frenchman remains suspended from football for doping violations, but is free to return to competitive action next month after the Court of Arbitration for Sport reduced his four-year ban to 18 months.
A return to his homeland looked on the cards as ex-Brighton boss De Zerbi expressed an interest in bringing Pogba to Marseille, insisting that he would 'try to make space' for the World Cup winner.
