Former Manchester United coach Rene Meulensteen has revealed how Cristiano Ronaldo was transformed from profligate to prolific during his time at Old Trafford.
The Portuguese star emerged as a dazzling teenage winger at United before gradually being converted into a deadly forward who once scored them 42 goals in a season.
Meulensteen worked on Sir Alex Ferguson's coaching staff from 2007 until 2013, overlapping with Ronaldo's final two seasons at the club, and he has spoken about how they honed his finishing skills.
'He started to become more and more productive, he started to decide games,' Meulensteen, now Australia national team assistant manager, told Optus Sport.
