Renato Sanches turned down the chance to join Manchester United to play with 'world-class players' under Carlo Ancelotti at Bayern Munich

Renato Sanches has revealed the reasons behind his decision not to join Manchester United last summer, claiming he opted instead to play under Carlo Ancelotti with 'world-class' stars.

The Bayern Munich midfielder lit up Euro 2016 with Portugal, being named Young Player of the tournament out in France to pave the way for a £30million move from Benfica to the Bundesliga champions.

Jose Mourinho had hoped to make Sanches one of his first signings at Old Trafford after his appointment, but the 19-year-old has revealed why he snubbed a move to the Premier League.
