The Reds came from behind to salvage a point against the Saints courtesy of Mason Greenwood’s 55th-minute strike on the south coast.
Although it is not the three points, the draw does mean that United have levelled Arsenal’s record of 27 successive away games without defeat in the Premier League, originally registered by the Gunners between April 2003 and September 2004.
Our own bit of history was recorded in front of an away end of United fans in the Reds’ first competitive game on the road with our travelling supporters since before the pandemic.
That came at Pride Park over 17 months ago, when Odion Ighalo (2) and Luke Shaw got on the scoresheet as the Reds overcame Derby County in an FA Cup fifth-round tie, back in March 2020.
