Ole Gunnar Solskjaer arrived at the Kiyan Prince Foundation Stadium after an upbeat 24 hours - but the Manchester United boss had little to celebrate as his makeshift side slumped to an embarrassing friendly defeat.
On Friday Solskjaer finally completed the £73 million capture of long-term target Jadon Sancho before Saturday morning’s announcement that the manager had handed a new deal that could keep him at Old Trafford until 2025.
The contract stalemate that has placed a huge question mark against Paul Pogba’s United future means it has certainly not all been positive news for Solskjaer this week - and the Norwegian was handed another headache by Championship side QPR
Sancho stayed at home and with the majority of Solskjaer’s leading players, including Pogba, still to report back for pre-season, Nemanja Matic, Mason Greenwood, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Jesse LIngard and Dan James were the senior names in the starting line-up.
