The South American forward appeared to pick up a hamstring injury during his country's third/fourth-place play-off against Argentina in the Copa America in Brazil.
However, Reds boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is hoping this will not extend the three-week break the 30-year-old was being afforded due to his international commitments.
“I don't think Alexis's injury was too bad,”
explained the manager at a press conference in Australia, ahead of the first match of Tour 2019 against Perth Glory.
“When he's due back is three weeks after his last game, so that will be just after we come back from tour.
