Police ‘to quiz father who filmed Jamie Carragher spitting at his daughter’ as the family urge Sky Sports NOT to sack the disgraced pundit

Police are expected to sit down with father who filmed Jamie Carragher spitting on his 14-year-old daughter - as the family urge Sky Sports not to sack the disgraced pundit.

The former Liverpool and England defender fought back tears on live television after he apologised for 'five seconds of madness' and admitted his behaviour was 'disgusting'.

He has been suspended by Sky Sports and was told that he will not appear on Monday Night Football and his £1million-a-year contract hangs in the balance after he was axed by Danish channel TV3 Sport.

Yet the parents of the youngster have said they don’t want to see the 40-year-old get fired and insist he showed sincere remorse when contacting them to apologise.
