Pogba arrives amid fanfare as Man United maximise transfer publicity

Manchester United began recouping their world record outlay on Paul Pogba soon after he arrived at Manchester Airport on Monday.

The club arranged for a sponsored car to bring the Frenchman to the Carrington training ground for his medical, knowing the images would be beamed around the world. The exposure for the red and black Chevrolet will delight the American car maker who, in 2014, agreed to pay a world record £43 million per year to have its logo and name on United's shirts.

Grabbing attention is something United now try to do around transfers. The club have a dedicated marketing department in their London office.
