Peter Schmeichel claims Arsenal legend David Seaman, who retired 16 YEARS ago, was England's last genuine No 1 keeper as he takes aim at error-prone Jordan Pickford, benched Dean Henderson and rock bottom Nick Pope

Peter Schmeichel believes England have not had a proper No 1 goalkeeper since David Seaman hung up his gloves way back in 2002.

Jordan Pickford has been Gareth Southgate's first choice for the last three years but his position has come under increased scrutiny following a number of errors for Everton at the start of the season.

Burnley's Nick Pope and Manchester United's Dean Henderson are also in contention for the Three Lions but Schmeichel, who earned 129 caps for Denmark, insists that England have missed Seaman's authority in between the sticks for the last 18 years.
