Penarol bosses have revealed details of Manchester United's £10million signing of Uruguayan wonderkid Facundo Pellistri with the Old Trafford club apparently not paying his release clause.
The 18-year-old winger completed his move to United before the transfer deadline on Monday and is expected to go straight into Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's first-team squad this season.
But according to Penarol secretary Evaristo Gonzalez, United informed the Uruguayan club it went against club policy to pay Pellistri's release clause and instead sent the money directly.
Gonzalez told Uruguayan outlet Referi: 'In the talks with Manchester, at one point they told me: 'Due to the club's policy, we don't pay for release clauses so we send the money to the club directly and you fix that problem.
