Manchester United legend Paul Scholes has backed the club's decision to leave Old Trafford.
Sir Jim Ratcliffe announced earlier this week that United plan to build a new £2bn stadium, while moving on from the ground they have called home since 1910.
Scholes admitted it will be sad to leave the iconic Old Trafford behind, but believes the time is right to move on.
'I was quite excited (by the announcement),' Scholes told TNT Sports.
'This stadium holds many memories for me and I have played in some of the greatest stadiums ever.
