Paul Scholes feels Manchester City have the edge in race for Erling Haaland because of dad Alf-Inge's links to the club... but former Man United midfielder hopeful old side pull off deal as he's 'perfect'

Paul Scholes believes Manchester City have the edge over Manchester United in the race for Erling Haaland given his family history in the blue half of the city.

Haaland's dad, Alf-Inge, represented City as well as Leeds during his time in England, two of United's biggest rivals.

Scholes believes those associations could be 'strong' in deciding where Dortmund star Haaland goes next - although he remains hopeful United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer can play on his relationship with the player from their days at Molde.
