Patrick Dorgu bizarrely told the referee not to give Manchester United a penalty during the Red Devils' win over Real Sociedad.
United booked their spots in the last-eight of the Europa League on Thursday with a comfortable victory over the Spanish side, winning 4-1 on the night and 5-2 on aggregate.
Bruno Fernandes netted a hat-trick, with two of those strikes coming from the penalty spot with four penalties given by French referee Benoit Bastien - three for United and one for the visitors.
A fourth penalty was awarded late on for a foul on Dorgu, but the decision was overturned after a brief VAR check that showed Hamari Traore had made contact with the ball first.
