The Manchester United captain twisted his ankle in the 3-1 win over Aston Villa earlier this month, and has not featured in any of the Reds' subsequent fixtures.
But with 10 days remaining until the final against Villarreal on 26 May, the manager says the centre-back is optimistic about his chances of making it onto the pitch in Gdansk.
“He's making progress,”
said Solskjaer.
“When I spoke to him this morning he was quite positive but, naturally, the day after it happened we were all down. We saw early on or we decided that we have to focus, have to be positive, and think that you're gonna make it until you have to say 'no'.
