Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has revealed how Darren Fletcher's ideas about football convinced him to promote the former midfielder to Manchester United's senior coaching set-up.
Fletcher spent more than 20 years at the club and had been working with United's Under-16s since October, but Solskjaer saw enough in him to move him up to his backroom staff this week.
'It's good to have him back,' Solskjaer told Manchester United's official website. 'Fletch has been very important to this club for many years.
'I've known him since he was a young boy coming through as a 16-year-old and [former assistant] Mark Dempsey, he's moved down to the Academy helping out there more.
