Northampton 1-3 Manchester United: Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford save Jose Mourinho's blushes

Manchester United avoided a fourth consecutive defeat despite a first-half scare for Jose Mourinho's side.

The Red Devils opened the scoring through Michael Carrick before Northampton hit back thanks to a penalty before the break by Alex Revell.

However United managed to secure a spot in the fourth round of the EFL Cup after Ander Herrera and Marcus Rashford netted in the second half.
