Nice 1-0 St Etienne: Florentin Pogba and Co suffer away day blues just a week before Manchester United trip

Fifth-placed St Etienne suffered a blow to their hopes of qualifying for the Champions League as title chasers Nice returned to winning ways.

Christophe Galtier's side had the chance to narrow the nap on fourth-placed Lyon to one point in Ligue 1 but they were sunk by Wylan Cyprien's early thunderbolt.

The French midfielder fired a 25-yard strike past the St Etienne keeper in the seventh minute on Wednesday night.

St Etienne face Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Europa League next Thursday (February 16).
