Jacob Murphy has admitted Newcastle sensed they were going to beat Manchester United after identifying David de Gea's distribution as a weakness straight away in their 2-0 win over the Red Devils on Sunday.
Newcastle had to wait until the 65th minute to take the lead at St James' Park with Joe Willock heading home from close range, before Callum Wilson wrapped up all three points two minutes from time.
Murphy has revealed Newcastle felt they were on top from the outset, though, and were keen to capitalise on De Gea's uncertainty with the ball at his feet after watching him hesitate when taking his first goal kick.
