Newcastle manager Steve Bruce has set his sights on bringing in Manchester United left-back Brandon Williams in January.
According to the Chronicle Live, Bruce is going to have to turn to loan signings in the window which opens in three days, and with Williams struggling for game-time at Old Trafford, the 20-year-old is viewed as a viable option.
It would allow Newcastle to keep funds for a recruitment drive at the end of the season as they look to recuperate the millions lost from gate revenue due to coronavirus restrictions.
But after an indifferent run of form that has seen them knocked out of the Carabao Cup and without a league victory in four matches, the immediate priority is to bring in new faces as they look to remain competitive in the league.
